Wow! I feel sad up here in Toronto just hearing that story!! I guess a lesson too is if it was worth the fight at the start it is still worth the fight because good people win out in the end! When I think of Lech Walesa in Poland fighting a huge machine or Nelson Mandela if it is truly a fight for the everyday people then it never ends!! Great column!!

I really appreciate this timely reporting Jordan. Sharing with all my political friends and I keep encouraging them to subscribe!

Daniel Hunter of Choose Democracy/Waging Nonviolence called it that it was a matter of time before this administration would call in the National Guard like this and was surprised it didn't happen in January. Trump didn't invoke the Insurrection Act yet but there much food for thought on how we can respond to the current moment here. https://wagingnonviolence.org/2025/04/what-to-do-if-the-insurrection-act-is-invoked/

He is getting bolder every day and his own people are getting worried about his political shelf life. When ol' Marjorie starts making sense we know the end is near!!

He's not going to self-destruct. It is up to us to put up the resistance, nonviolently, and use all our creativity to do so, just as people around the world have resisted their own despots. Please read the Waging Nonviolence piece that I linked to!
