People are sick of politicians who are motivated by greed and are willing to compromise on issues that involve their basic rights and peoples lives. Donald Trump took advantage of that by providing the illusion of change despite the fact that he’s taking the American system to its natural extreme.

I AM WOKE

Early use (1940s–2000s):

Originated in African American Vernacular English (AAVE).

“Stay woke” meant being aware of racial prejudice and systemic racism.

Example: being woke meant you recognized injustice in how Black people were treated by the police or legal system.

Broader modern use (2010s–early 2020s):

Expanded to include awareness of any form of social injustice — sexism, LGBTQ+ rights, environmental issues, economic inequality, etc.

In this sense, being woke meant being socially conscious and advocating for marginalized groups.

Political backlash and ironic use (mid-2020s):

Some began using “woke” as a pejorative, to criticize what they saw as excessive political correctness, moral grandstanding, or ideological rigidity.

In this sense, “woke” is used mockingly to describe people or movements seen as overzealous about social justice.
